Some spots I caught on my d while out and about through the Canada Day festivities today!
I’ve mentioned before that Teslas are very rare here as there are no dealerships closer than Ontario. I only see one on a regular basis and it is owned by a local doctor. I saw these TWO today, less than 20 seconds apart! The first Model X had US plates (didn’t catch the state), and the second one is said aforementioned doctor’s local Tesla:
When got into Lunenburg proper, I found these ostentatious tail-fins greeting me! The rear end of a 1957 Chevy - I’ve seen it around before. It’s beautifully restored and the gold badging looks very classy in contrast with the chrome!
A little ways down the same street, I found this handsome new 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT. I really like the look of these and think one could definitely be a DD for me down the road. This one was in a very nice shade of blue, but the reason I kept a pic of it was that it had a very Abarth-style stripe in white down the side that looks really good (no writing, just the stripe). Not overdone, looked very cool to me! :)
Lasly, down that street and turning left onto the next, I came across this old, patina’d VW Bus a little ways down. I’m not down with my classic VWs, but guessing this one is an early ‘70's model? Tourists as it was on original Massachusetts plates - kudos to the people or person that drove a classic VW Bus all the way up here from Massachusetts - that’s Oppo-worthy right there!

Wow, you don’t usually see the 4-door 57's get restored. Very nice.
I think I’m going to sell the Super 8. My buddy has decided to sell his Zuma 125, and I want it.

Noooooooo! Zumas have smaller engines though? I do like them, but is the scoot lighter enough to offset the smaller engine to give it the same performance as the Super 8? Canada historically has had a different name for Zumas up here....other than an ‘off-roady’ model called the Zuma X on sale now, they’ve historically been called the ‘BWS’ here for some reason...
If only I were closer and had my bike license I would buy the Super 8 off of ya!

Yeah, the 125 is a smaller engine, so I won’t be able to top 50. I t’s fuel injected though, and it’s low-mid range torque is way better. For the kind of riding I do, it’s better. While the Kymco is a good scooter, the Yahama is just better in many little ways. Two small examples: the Kymco’s headlights are like candles, the Yahama’s are easily six times brighter. On the Kymco, to pop the seat open, you have to take the key out of the ignition. On the Yamaha, just turn the key a bit to the right, while it’s still running . A lot of little things make a big difference.
If I could afford to have them both, I would. It’s a great looking, great handling scoot. Finances don’t allow me to have two fancy scoots right now though.
I say get your bike license, fly out here, and ride back on the back roads. I’ll cut you a deal ;)

Well, you’re gonna want to take back roads anyways, an interstate scooter, it is not :)
